Understand the work before you choose the support.
Practical answers about Pathfinder’s analysis, deliverables, AI use, and engagement scope. If your question concerns a specific pursuit or operating need, bring it to the first conversation.
Questions about working with GovLogic.
Who is Pathfinder designed for?
Small and mid-size government contractors whose BD, capture, and proposal teams need additional intelligence and practical pursuit support. It can help an owner-led firm or an established growth team assess opportunities and organize the work that follows.
Does Pathfinder cover state, local and education opportunities?
Yes. Alongside federal pursuits, Pathfinder supports opportunities with state agencies, counties and municipalities, K–12 school districts, and public colleges and universities. We agree on your target buyers and capabilities, then assess available requirements, procurement records, and competitive context. Sources, vendor classifications, and procurement routes vary by buyer.
What do we receive each month?
Pathfinder provides 8–12 scored opportunities aligned with your capabilities and target agencies, plus selected nine-component Capture Briefs. Base includes two Capture Briefs per month; Pro includes four. Elite volume is scoped to your pipeline. Review the engagement levels for the additional services.
How do practitioners and AI work together?
Practitioners establish the capture questions and direct the analysis. AI supports organizing information, synthesis, and repeatable analysis. Practitioners interpret the findings for your company and prepare recommendations your team can evaluate.
What sources inform Pathfinder’s analysis?
We draw on GovWin, DACIS, SAM.gov opportunity notices and FPDS contract-award records, SBA Small Business Search and DSBS records, IT Dashboard, GAO, G2X, OrangeSlices, USASpending, LinkedIn, agency websites, and existing opportunity documents. The source mix depends on the pursuit, access, and available information. AI helps us work with that material; the underlying evidence supports the findings.
What is in a Capture Brief?
Nine components: a capabilities matrix, teaming targets, incumbent analysis, competitor landscape, Go/No-Go scorecard, pursuit timeline, evaluation criteria, agency intelligence, and a pursuit recommendation. The analysis reflects the documents and evidence available at that stage.
How does our BD or capture lead use the roadmap?
Use it to assess company gaps, prepare teaming outreach, plan government customer calls, establish the competitive landscape, and prioritize further capture activity. Requirements and capability evidence also provide useful inputs for proposal planning.
What do you need from our company?
Your capabilities, relevant experience, target agencies, and pursuit priorities. Available opportunity documents and existing capture materials help establish the starting point. For the first conversation, a notice ID, public link, or description of the pursuit is enough.
How does Pathfinder improve our internal operations?
We help connect intelligence and analysis to the repeatable work of BD, capture, and proposal preparation. That includes using AI to support how information is organized and carried into subsequent tasks. We agree on the operational support within your engagement; custom integrations and broader implementation work need a defined scope.
Does Pathfinder write our proposals or manage the entire capture?
Pathfinder supports proposal preparation through opportunity assessment, requirement analysis, and capture inputs. Full proposal production or ownership of an entire capture is not automatically included. We discuss those responsibilities separately and identify where Advisory may be appropriate.
Do you conduct teaming outreach or arrange government meetings?
The roadmap supports your team’s outreach and call planning. Pro includes teaming partner outreach, with the activity defined in your engagement. Government call planning helps you prepare objectives and questions; it does not promise access or scheduled meetings.
How are AI-supported findings reviewed?
Capture practitioners evaluate the evidence and its implications rather than treating model output as evidence on its own. AI can make mistakes, and available records can be incomplete or dated. The analysis must distinguish supported findings from assumptions and questions for further investigation.
Is the Go/No-Go score a probability of winning?
No. It is a qualification assessment to help your team weigh fit, readiness, and pursuit considerations. A score is not a statistical prediction of an award. Your team makes the investment decision using the assessment and its own knowledge.
How do you handle confidential information?
Your pipeline and pursuit materials require appropriate handling. Discuss confidentiality requirements and permitted AI use with us before providing sensitive materials. Data access and handling arrangements should be established for the engagement.
Is Pathfinder a software subscription, and how long is the engagement?
Pathfinder is a managed service that uses AI and intelligence tools to support your team. The engagement runs month to month, with pricing and specific commitments established through consultation. Discuss changes in scope or service level with us as your needs evolve.
How do industry practices inform the work?
Our approach is informed by Shipley capture practices and APMP best practices, including disciplined qualification, capture planning, and preparation for proposals. The emphasis is on useful decisions and actions for the pursuit.
When should we discuss Advisory, and how do we start?
Discuss Advisory when you need embedded capture leadership, vehicle strategy, or a more extensive BD process engagement. To explore Pathfinder, request a consultation and name a pursuit. Your first consultation includes a free opportunity brief on that pursuit.
